Coach Calvin Wagner is a passionate and energetic leader for both the teams he plays for, and the teams he coaches. Wagner was a very important piece of the NorCal Rush team that won the West Coast National Championship in Las Vegas in the summer of 2021. With his basketball IQ being such an integral part to his on the court success as a part of NorCal Rush, it only made sense for him to transition into a coach for the club. Wagner is the 2nd NorCal Rush player to make such a transition. NorCal Rush Founder & President, Zac Levine, has said, “Calvin’s understanding of the game and his ability to articulate it are unique assets for someone his age. His ceiling as a basketball coach is incredibly high.” Wagner also bonds really well with his players creating a tight knit group that brings out the passion and hustle in his teams needed to find success on the court.
